Description
Designed in the iconic Yashou (Press-Hand) silhouette originating from the Ming Dynasty, this medium-sized teacup offers an ergonomically balanced grip that naturally rests and “presses” into the palm for ultimate stability. The cup showcases Hua Shan Zhuo Yin’s exclusive Underglaze White (釉里白) technique. Against a dynamic backdrop of hand-painted cobalt-blue branches, the plum blossoms are meticulously rendered in a specially formulated raised white enamel. This proprietary craftsmanship creates a translucent, jade-like texture that brings the resilient beauty of the winter plum to life, marrying centuries of Jingdezhen heritage with an unparalleled tactile and tasting experience.

The Yashou Cup, or “hand-pressing cup,” was a highly esteemed form of imperial teaware during the Yongle reign of the Ming dynasty. While preserving its historic sense of weight and composure, Huashan Zhuoyin enriches this classic form with the brand’s signature Underglaze White technique.
A master artisan paints the twisting, time-worn branches of an ancient plum tree in deep cobalt blue, then applies a specially formulated white glaze to each blossom. With its gently flared rim and low center of gravity, the cup rests securely and comfortably in the hand. As the fingers move across its surface, they encounter both the substantial warmth of the porcelain body and the subtly raised white plum blossoms, smooth and lustrous like fine mutton-fat jade.
More than a well-balanced vessel for tea, it embodies the resilient spirit, quiet strength, and enduring dignity of the East.
